Abstract

This study reports the first structural elucidation of uncoordinated β-diketiminate anions (BDI–) in the presence of caesium complexes. The β-diketiminate caesium salt (BDICs) was synthesised, and upon addition of Lewis donor ligands, free BDI– anions and donor-solvated Cs+ cations were observed. Interestingly, the released BDI– anions exhibit a dynamic cisoid-transoid exchange in solution.
